You can put the {yos_ammap} with parameters anywhere in content in Joomla: intro text or main text. You can see examples and documentation on my demo site: http://joomla.yopensource.com/yos-ammap/1.5/

Check the html of the content item so there are no between { } or in the html a return.
The plugin works for one line! It can be once, twice or more to display multiple, inline maps on a single content page for different locations and configurations.

mapid: This place contain ID of map
width,height: Width and height of map
flashv: Flash's version to display map
bgcolour: Background color of map
type: Choose a display way. You can choose 1 in 2 way is 'js'(SWF-Object) or 'fl'(Embedding Flash Object)
plugin: Its value will be 1 if you want to display dynamic data.
path: The folder where all your files, icons and maps are.
preloader_color: Tells amMap script color of preloader bar.
data_file: URL of ammap_data.xml
setting_file: URL of ammap_settings.xml
